Hamilton Island to Sydney – Sailing a Sydney 38 .  Regular Adventure planned for September each year. Trip Depends upon boat availabilty.  The more we sign up the better chance a boat can sail.

1050 Nautical Mile Ocean racing adventure deliverying boats home after Hamilton Race week.

This ocean passage of 1050 Nautical Miles will begin at Hamilton Island, Queensland, Australia. We will board a Sydney 38 racing yacht after she finishes racing for the week and sail here back to Sydney.

Audi Hamilton Island Race Week Hamilton Island Hamilton Island Queensland is famous throughout the sailing world and you may be assured to be able to race here you need a decent boat. The Sydney 38 is a superb racer and yet she sleeps 4 – 6 crew with ease.

Provision will be on the boat and all you need is your own kit and the desire to sail. We plan on a crew of 4 -6 for this voyage and will be sailing through the night. There will chances to learn / practice navigation and night sailing.

No it’s not a hard nor an official race. We simply jump on the boat at Queensland’s, Hamilton Island and race as hard or soft as we like to Sydney.

All good ocean racers start somewhere and these trips are tops for beginners just as they are challenging for professionals. We get to sail first class racing yachts like this Sydney 38 for more than 1000 miles. We face the ocean at our own speed and enjoy the trip.

On the 2008 trip we had some fantastic days, saw dolphins and whales but most of all we enjoyed the feeling of ocean racers without the pressure. This trip is a great training ground for beginners and a fun sail for the more experienced. Here is a video of a few moments as we took the Sydney 38 down the coast in 2008.
